8th May 2018

The Garden Rooms at Tennants is delighted to be holding its Amateur Photography Competition for the second year – and for 2018  entries are invited on the theme of ‘My Yorkshire’.

Yorkshire is a place of extraordinary variety – from the dramatic coastal cliffs to rolling farmland and high moors, vibrant cities to historic towns, picture postcard villages to the industrial landscapes that helped forge our country. Now we are inviting the regions’ talented amateur photographers to capture the county, and show their own unique view of Yorkshire.

So whether you are inspired by Scarborough’s sandy beaches, the soaring architecture of York Minster or the bustle of Leeds city centre – we want to see your interpretation of the theme ‘My Yorkshire’.

Thirty finalists will be selected from the entries, whose photograph will be included in our gallery exhibition which will run from 16th June – 8th July. Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to vote for their favourite. The winning entry will receive a prize and will be included, along with the eleven runners up, in The Garden Rooms 2019 Calendar. Many of the photographs in the exhibition will be for sale, with 10% of proceeds donated to Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
