In aid of The Yemen Crisis Appeal, Save the Children

Clive Wilson is an artist, poet and a coach and facilitator of Purposeful Leadership with Primeast Ltd in Harrogate.  He is also author of several books including “Designing the Purposeful Organization” and “Designing the Purposeful World”.

Pertinent to this exhibition, Clive chairs the Harrogate Branch of the United Nations Association (UNA).  One of the branch’s longest serving members is Ann Hodgson.  At one of the UNA meetings in 2019, Ann engaged fellow UNA members on the subject of Yemen and the awful humanitarian tragedy which continues to play out in that part of the world.

Ann wanted to do something practical to help and engaged with the press to raise awareness.  She also became aware of the much-needed work of Save the Children and decided to raise some money for the cause.  Clive offered to help out and donated some of his paintings for Ann to exhibit.  An exhibition at Pannal Methodist Church in Harrogate raised over £600 in 2019. Today, with the Covid-19 pandemic worsening the situation in Yemen, a second exhibition of Clive’s work has been organised by Ann to further raise awareness.

Proceeds of the sale of paintings on display in the café will be donated to the Yemen Crisis Appeal.

THE YEMEN CRISIS APPEAL, RUN BY SAVE THE CHILDREN

Children in Yemen are living through the largest humanitarian emergency in the world, caught up in a conflict that isn’t theirs.

Yemen’s children are growing up through the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Six years of war has left 12.4m children needing assistance.

Half of Yemen’s health facilities have been forced to close or are only partially functioning as a result of the war, leaving millions vulnerable to coronavirus.

Yemen is a perfect storm of humanitarian, protection and economic crises, with each fuelling the other.
