English Country House Interiors by Paul Minter

17th June – 5th July 2022

A selection of paintings of English Country House Interiors by Paul Minter will be on display in a cabinet on the Upper Gallery alongside antiques coming up in the Summer Fine Sale.

The English Country House has always captured the imagination; great houses filled with treasures, antiques, art and stories of the past, gardens full of flowers, thriving country estates, working farms and beautiful countryside. Built to impress, display, welcome and provide the utmost comfort for gilded lives.

Paul uses traditional oil painting techniques to create contemporary renderings of spectacular Country House interiors. He says of his work:

“My first Country House paintings were made during the Covid Lockdown. I realised just how much I missed the ability to visit my favourite houses and made these works as a consolation, to remember better times. They provide a window into what is, for most of us, another world.”

The paintings will be available to purchase.

Painting Demonstration

Paul is an experienced painting tutor and will be giving a live demonstration on the Upper Gallery on 29th June at 11am (approximately one hour). Afterwards Paul will be available to talk to visitors about his work until 2.30.

The demonstration is free to attend, but please contact us to book your place on 01969 621146 or [email protected]
