Lecture by the Arts Society - The Princes in the Tower

Tuesday 24th June

Philippa Langley MBE is an historian, writer and film producer, best known for her role in the discovery and re-burial of Richard III.  In this talk she will discuss the finding of ‘The Missing Princes Project’ , a centuries old historical mystery which investigates the fate of the deposed King Edward V of England and his younger brother, Prince Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York, heirs to the throne of King Edward IV of England, treating the story of the Princes in the Tower as a 500-year-old cold case.  Leaving no stone unturned, Langley uncovers evidence that the princes survived Richard III’s reign and points to another suspect for their eventual deaths.

Philippa is a well-known writer, producer and Ricardian, who is best known for her role in the discovery and 2012 exhumation of Richard III, as part of the Looking for Richard project, for which she was awarded an MBE.  She has written books and appeared in film-length documentaries on the search for Richard III and was portrayed in the 2022 film The Lost King.
